Dries Van Noten

Stop right there fashion world. No need to make any more clothes. I'm satisfied with Dries Spring 2013. I don't need anything else, ever again.

It somehow combines absolutely everything I love to wear- plaid, metallics, metallic plaid, vintagy looking florals with plaids, sheer fabric, sheer fabric layered over other fabric, sheer plaid layered over florals, grandpa jerseys, androgynous shirts/pants, frilly tops (I could go on and on)- while still being cohesive.

I'm dead serious, I could quite happily live in these clothes forever and ever and ever.

And you cannot see it in these photos, but many of the backs of the clothes are completely different. In the words of Rachel Zoe, 'I die'.

The only way this could be improved? Doc Martens.

Beautiful

I feel like the Doc Martens are really getting the hang of prints now. I'm find it harder every year to say no. I think four pairs is enough.

Overalls

Workshop Denim Overalls. Number One Shoe Warehouse Tap Shoes, Glassons Bag
Second hand dungarees , Boots from Jeans West, Supre Tshirt

I'm really digging overalls at the moment. Give you that really easy, throw together,. but kinda cool option in your wardrobe. Plus they remind me of being five years old, which is sort of enjoyable.

Paper Doll

I've had my eye on this necklace for a while. Me and my mum found it at this little boutique down high street but I couldn't afford it at the time and she bought it. It has two pieces, the women wearing her under garments and the dress that hangs over the top, just like a Victorian paper doll. I managed recently to convince my mum to swap it for another necklace of mine she's had her eye on. So happy! I love it.

Ethereal

Got some new boots today. Really like them. They've got that beigey tone that I can't help but keep buying in shoes, and the stretchy sides make them really comfy. Plus a really wide heel so they are really easy to walk in.

This jacket is another of the things that I am selling. It was one of the first pieces of clothing I ever sewed myself. I wanted a brocade jacket forever, especially in this minty green colour. I made it with a whole bunch of other clothes as a sort of collection. They were all very ethereal. It's really well made with stretchy jersey edges, sort of a bomber jacket, Letterman's style. I think I always sort of wanted it to be more like a denim jacket though, and the fabric is so soft and loose, it doesn't actually sit that well. Don't tell anybody on my auction though :p.

Also, sorry about the drab background and surly face. There was so much glare that I could barely open my eyes. I need to buy a new tripod or find a better place to take photos. At the moment, I am just propping my camera up against the window sill which isn't that effective.

Compartmentalise

I like to compartmentalise my life, organise the files on my computer into a long path of twists and turns, return my eftpos card into the same slot in my wallet over and over again. Looking at my room, or the amount of times I have lost my keys and cellphone, you wouldn't think I was an organised person, and I'm not. I'm more just neurotically logically. Be that as it may, I have started to write a lot more lately and I wanted a place to put it all down. Since this blog is devoted to my obsession with fashion, I thought I would start a new one, devoted to my narcissistic wishes to be a writer.

So if you love reading as much as you like clothes, please knock three times

And give me feedback!

Old clothes, old skins

I feel bad that this blog has taken such a long hiatus, but I needed a new camera and was scott broke for an entire year. Being a student can be fun in a lot of ways but it does mean having very little money. In some ways, I almost enjoy that though, I get such a thrill out of bargain hunting.

I have grown a bit over the years of blogging, and I decided it was time to get rid of some old clothes that I either do not fit, or do not wear, and make some money in the process.

Unfortunately, some of things that I am getting rid of I actually really love still, but the great thing about having a fashion blog is it's like an archive. I never really feel like I get rid of anything because I can just look through my old blog posts and see myself wearing them again (even better because I can see myself wearing them when I still fit them haha).

So I thought I would do a bit of an homage post to one of my favourite wardrobe items, my world skirt, as I cannot fit it anymore, and am sending it off to a better home.

Seems quite funny that I go from heels to boots to slippers in these photos.
