Deadlocks

I miss Gemma!!!
I have always wanted dreads, but have always been to scared to just go for it. When I was younger I always thought I'd get them when I started university, but now I am here everyone is less free spirited and boring than I expected. Still maybe it is the right time in my life. I have an awesome pair of doc martens to go with it haha. At any rate, I have decided to grow my hair again. It used to look like this:

Oh to be a model and to change your look every few minutes.

Boiling

It was so hot today! Crazily hot and really windy. I'd say about 30 degrees (Celsius). We haven't had weather like that in sooo long. Still I was determined to wear my docs. They don't really suit my skin too much as I am so pale at the moment (just came out of winter). Ideally I'd rather be wearing black tights.
I did so much study today, I am exhausted. Wish me luck for my exam tomorrow!!

Not much of a post today, as I didn't actually get out of my pajamas until about 1, and then went on the most mammoth bike ride ever. It was dark before I got home and after 9. I'm not exactly one for exercise either, this isn't an ordinary occurrence. I am shattered. I could crawl into a hole and die.
Here are some old outfits instead, it's a bit of a mix, but all good ones.

Doc Martens

My new shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was love at first sight, and my mum and I were looking for my birthday present (my birthday was a couple of weeks ago but my parents were away so mum left an IOU note). I can tell I am going to be a collector when I am older. I just love docs so much and they are the most comfortable shoes you will ever have (if you take the time to wear them in). I am already the owner of these bad boys:

23.10.08

Went opshopping today. Got this fantastic black, sheer dress and gold top.
I really love black sheer things, and this has rooshing down the side, which looks very 1920s if done properly.

I am so sick of studying and being at home. But I'm also so listless. I don't feel like doing anything. *sigh*

NZ Fashion 101

Since I have just been in pajamas all day (it is what study leave does to you), I thought I would show you some more New Zealand fashion. This is Nom*D, probably my favourite designers of all time. All their collections have a sort of dark, grungy student vibe which I love. But if you look at their clothes carefully, they are amazingly constructed, detailed and tailored. Kind of like classily slopped on?

21/10/08

I want all these pairs of tights. Especially the cobweb ones, which I think realistically wouldn't be too hard to get my hands on.
Tomorrow I get to judge the wearable arts at my friend's high school fashion show. I am so excited, have to decided what to wear.
Also, how cool are the denim, cutoff stockings? Surely that wouldn't be hard to recreate. Did you just hear the DIY bell *ding ding ding ding ding*.
They'd be pretty cool destressed too. Maybe a cut off knee. (Ok just realised they actually are)

20/10/08

Had a bit of a blah day today. Got up really late and just hang around in town with a couple of friends, trying to find out what to do.
I am getting a lot of wear out of these boots at the moment, though they are a little too big for me. I'm also loving my custom-made Karen Walker style, acid wash shorts, but i have lost a bit of weight with being sick over the past weeks and they are starting to bag a bit.

I have decided that I really want to write a fashion spread for my university's magazine next year. I'll have to get my act together and make some articles up. A facehunter type thing could be really cool, but I don't know how much people would want to be focused on. It might bring too much attention to them.

It's queer to watch other bloggers getting dressed more warmed up while I dress down. Makes me nostalgic for autumn again, though it's always just so ridiculously cold here. We never have nice, in between weather. Too cold, even, for tights (nylon). Seems one can never be happy.

Hello Again!!

I am going to try and post more often as now I am on holiday. Over the last month I have pretty much let all my hobbies fall apart and now I am bursting with inspiration!!!

I want my sewing machine back! We are not sure what happened to it. It started smoking a few months ago, and we thought it was just the foot (seriously, if your sewing machine blows check the foot first, it is usually the problem). But dad had a twiddle at it and it seems it has just done its time. Poor sewing machine. It was so old and so loyal for so long. It did rattle something shocking though, and the tension was never quite right.

I am loving these shoes at the moment. I guess it makes me nostalgic for back in the days when I had to wear a uniform (I'm just kidding guys, god how I hated that).

I also bought some glasses!! Edit: My boyfriend bought them for me for my birthday (he actually secretly loves them and steals them from me most days I wear them).
Here is my geek look:

I also have an awesome purple, nerdy jersey to go with this, but I had just walked up the hill when i took this photo.
